It is a pleasure for me to invite you to the very first Bergen International Week (BIW) at the University of Bergen

The University of Bergen is often referred to as Norway’s “international university”. 4% of our students have come here as part of the Erasmus programme, and many students, researchers, teachers and doctoral students are recruited from outside Europe. We therefore believe the time has come to also invite other groups of the international university community to Bergen and to our university.

Bergen International Week 2010 will focus on two groups of university professionals: staff working at the university libraries and staff working with student mobility/international relations. Our ambition is to invite different groups of university staff each year in order to facilitate personal links and networks that will strengthen the internationalisation of the entire University of Bergen.
